We’re going to start moving again this week. We’ve been doing this physical challenge since we were kids but it’s too good to leave out. Week # 19

Welcome to the new week and another challenge! This challenge might be harder than you think but will be great for your mental health. We all spend a lot of time on our phones looking at photos of people we don’t know and seeing what we’ll look like when we’re 80. This week we will work on unfollowing negative social media accounts. If you notice certain accounts making you feel bad about yourself, your life or just making you angry then let’s lighten your load a bit. Purge your social media feeds and see how you feel. Don’t let online negatively affect your happiness. You can control what you see.

Week # 18

Hope everyone is having a great week! We are back with another #smallandsimplechallenge. This week we are doing more strength training with bench dips. These are great because they are easy to modify and you don’t need special equipment. Shoot for 3 sets of 8-12 reps. Week # 17

Welcome to a new week! This week for the #smallandsimplechallenge we are going to get moving again since everyone is well rested from last week. We are doing lunges. These are a great beginner move that can also be made more difficult with weights or volume. Start with 8-10 on each leg and go from there as you feel stronger. . Remember the goal of the challenge is to show you that by starting simple and being consistent you will see great progress. Even doing a little something is better than nothing and you should feel proud of yourself. #utah cbd

Week # 16

Week 16 of the #smallandsimplechallenge will either be easy or very hard.  The goal this week is to get a minimum of 7 hours of sleep at night. . Research has shown that consistently getting 7-8 hours of sleep is key to a healthy lifestyle and the benefits are numerous. Week # 15

We are back with week 16 of the #smallandsimplechallenge! This time we are working on the Locust Pose or Shalabhasana. This basic move will help strengthen your lower back and core and help improve your posture.  Lay on your stomach with your arms to your side, palms up, rest your chin on the floor. Try and reach forward with your head and back through your toes. This will activate your back muscles. Now slowly lift your head, shoulders, and legs off the ground.Try and hold this for 5 breaths before slowly lowering your head and legs to the floor. Try this everyday this week. That’s the challenge.

Week # 14

Welcome to week 15 of the #smallandsimplechallenge . This week in these turbulent times we are practicing gratitude. That’s right…practicing. Sometimes it’s tough to see the sunshine through the clouds so we are going to work on it this week. Everyday when you wake up or right before you go to bed try and think of something you are grateful for. Hopefully by the end of the week we will all have a more healthy perspective on our personal situations. Recognizing the small blessings in our life is huge in mental health and wellness.

Week # 14

Back with week 14 of the #smallandsimplechallenge and we hope everyone is well. This one should be easy. We wanted to do our part and encourage everyone who must go out to wear a mask whenever possible. So that is the challenge this week.

Week # 13

Week 13 of the #smallandsimplechallenge First off- we messed up. With everything going on we forgot to post this challenge last week. We’ll still be posting another one tomorrow so if you’re feeling brave do both! This one you’ve all been asking for 😂. Now before you say “I’m out” know there are plenty of modifications that beginners can make. You can try on your knees instead of yours toes. You can try it leaning against a wall or furniture. Just push. Try and keep your elbows closer to your sides. This helps keep your shoulders in a good position. Shoot for 10 a day and go up from there. Week # 12

We’re still here with week 12 of the #smallandsimplechallenge! This week we are going to get moving. Mountain climbers work multiple muscle groups and are great for mobility and heart health. Set a timer for 30 seconds. See if you can do 2-3 sets of this. If you have trouble getting on the floor you can perform this movement while standing. Have fun.
